WinEject is a small utility for Windows to open and close the CD-ROM tray or DVD-ROM drive. Other removable media (such as a ZIP drive or tape streamer) can also be checked out. WinEject opens and closes drives with motor trays (like most CD-ROM and DVD drives). With other drives with removable media (such as ZIP disks or streamers) WinEject you can insert the disc to eject.

Management

WinEject is controlled by a small icon in the system tray next to the clock. You can assign keyboard shortcuts (' hotkeys ') to open and close the drive.

Automatic extraction:

WinEject is able to open all of the disks that contain hard drives when you exit Windows. In case WinEject can't open car (like a normal floppy drive), you will see a warning message. So you'll never forget your disks on disks.


Protection against data loss:

WinEject tray before recordable disc, it resets the operating system disk cache. Of course, all data is written to the hard disk. If you use the eject button on the drive, it may happen that some of the data in the cache are written to disk.
